We believe that worship is an intimate experience for every individual. Music is one of several ways offering an opportunity for worshipers to experience God’s presence, God’s touch. Thus, the task becomes one of making a sincere effort to touch souls through music that is alive, inspirational in its delivery, appropriate to the service, and excellent in it’s performance. This is our sacrifice of praise!

The community of San Carlos United Methodist Church has had a rich tradition of worship – and a rich tradition of worship through music. Here are some opportunities for you to be involved:

Celebration Choir

The Celebration Choir is the cornerstone of our music ministry. It provides special music for every service and help lead the congregation in their personal worship experience. The Celebration Choir is open to all singers, and begins with an interview with the director, Terry Hendricks.

The King's Men

The King's Men is our men’s chorus, primarily a Gospel music chorus, but singing many other styles, as well. It hosts an annual concert in October, as well as provides musical worship for church services and in the community. The King's Men chorus is open to all men and directed by Terry Hendricks.

Higher Ground

Higher Ground is an adult mixed chorus with emphasis on Jazz and Gospel music. Membership is by audition. An exciting, high-energy group, it provides a wonderful outreach to the community, provides musical worship in church services, and hosts an annual concert each May. It is under the direction of Jeff McConnell.

The SCUMC Band is a group of talented instrumentalists that provide musical worship experiences for our church services, as well as accompanies the Celebration Choir at Easter and other musical events throughout the year. TheSCUMC Band is co-directed by Terry Hendricks and Jeff McConnell.
