In Our World    World

UMCOR

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the globe. UMCOR’s work reaches people in more than 80 countries, including the United States. We provide humanitarian relief when war, conflict, or natural disaster disrupt life to such an extent that communities are unable to recover on their own.

Missionaries

Working with the Board of Global ministries, we support Rev. Dr. Romeo del Rosario, director of the United Methodist Mission, Cambodia, which is engaged in evangelization ministries, programs with women, youth and children, Christian education and discipleship, community health and food production, leadership training, community organizing, livelihood skills training and church construction.

  • Gift Card Sales -Benefiting Church Mission Projects

Gift cards for a variety of local and national stores, restaurants and gas stations are for sale every Sunday morning in the Volunteer room and during the week in the office.  Sales from these cards benefit our church’s mission projects.   You may also register your Vons club card which will result in a percentage of your grocery purchases being donated by Vons to the church.  Stop by the Volunteer room located off of the church patio to purchase a gift card.

Work Teams

It has been said that in times of disaster, the first to arrive and the last to leave are the Methodists and the Mennonites. Whether it is in response to a disaster or a response to people in need, work teams go to help. Some of the places that people from this church have gone to serve are Chile, Sierra Leone, Mexico, Guatemala, Louisiana, and the Jersey shore.
